Project we at The Lime Light are working on for the Houston Holocaust Museum

From the museum: "In an effort to remember them (the children who died in the Holocaust), Holocaust Museum Houston is collecting 1.5 million handmade butterflies. The butterflies will eventually comprise a breath-taking exhibition, currently scheduled for Spring 2012, for all to remember. As of Summer 2008, we have already collected an estimated 400,000 butterflies.
Please facilitate the “I Never Saw Another Butterfly” activity and create as many handmade arts-and-crafts butterflies as possible. This project may be completed by all ages as individuals or groups.

-Butterflies should be no larger than 8 inches by 10 inches.
-Butterflies may be of any medium the artist chooses, but two-dimensional submissions are preferred.
-Glitter should not be used.
-Food products (cereal, macaroni, candy, marshmallows or other perishables) also should not be used. "

The museum will also need a digital photograph, which we are going to collect on a CD. You can email the photographs to me at Please put: "The Butterfly Project" in the subject line. When you are ready to mail the actual project(s), please leave a comment on this post with your email address and we will send you the address. We just want to keep the member's address as private as possible & therefore only want to give it to those who actually need it.

Having the photos & the butterflies organized before they are delivered to the museum will save them time, thus part of the reason we are organizing the project in this fashion.
Please post this project (preferably this link to the original post which contained this info: on your websites; please ask for help from everyone you can. You are welcome to quote any part of this post. Our goal is to be able to deliver ONE THOUSAND HAND MADE BUTTERFLIES. Please help in any way you can to make this possible.

That information has been moved to the Imagine That Plus site so that this site will load faster (that one doesn't have as much, and everything is pretty much in posts & not at the bottom of every page so it loads at a pretty good rate).
